THE 4 CYLINDER AND THE V6 ENGINE.

Advantages and disadvantages of inline 4 engine and V6

We all need to know that engine comes in different cylinders/sizes and the number of cylinders determines the power and performance of the engine. The cylinder comes in 4,6,8,12 respectively but we are focused on just the v4 and the v6.
The 4cylinder engine is popularly known as V4 or 4plug but in right words, it is called inline4, cause of how it's been lined up (straight lines).  The engine comes in these variants, 1,4litre, 1.6litre, 1.8litre, 2.0litre and 2.4litre. The V4 engine is standard in smaller cars but does not come with a great acceleration and may lack the power you need when faced in a situation where acceleration and speed is the only means of escape.
I4 engine (disadvantage) is slow, lacks power and relatively light but that doesn't make it bad either, for we all know it is a matter of choice choosing one of the engines over the other as each engine comes with its uniqueness.
The current generation of mechanics in Nigeria learn their trade more around i4 engines  which gives it a little bit of an advantage over the v6 but that doesn't mean there ain't competent mechanics for the v6.
In Nigeria today, the increment of fuel price has made the 4cylinder engine a more soother option over its counterpart.

The V6 engine comes in 3.0l, 3.3, 3.25, 3.5l, 3.8l respectively.
These engines are superior when compared to the v4. They are faster, stronger, well balanced and gives a smoother ride when driven. The fuel consumption is a bit higher and also it's maintenance too but that's the price you pay for its superiority over the latter.

I once had a chat with two clients, one said and I quote " at this stage of my life, driving a four plug is degrading to my status and I feel highly uncomfortable to drive a 4plug"
The second client said "driving a V6 is unnecessary, why should I pay more for a V6 when I can pay less and still get to my destination"

like I said earlier, it all balls down to choice.
